Ordered this 5-tier bookcase for my daughter's room. Once delivered, it turned out that the carton was just about disintegrating with both plastic straps loose. One end had opened completely and two of the shelves had obviously fallen partially out and were badly cracked - not a surprise, since the components were sliding back and forth in the box. Amazon quickly sent a replacement - same situation!!! This time the lengthwise packing strap was missing completely. Again, one end had opened and I found that the hardware package (screws, etc.) was missing, as were any instructions that mighty have been included. Also, one shelf had deep compression dents on the front edge, as if hit by something or strapped too tightly. Both times I was amazed that the manufacturer used absolutely no packing materials to keep the carton contents from bouncing around. This time I spoke directly to Amazon customer support, but the only thing they could do was refund the purchase price or send another unit from their warehouse. I chose the refund! I'm glad others had a good experience with this product, but I would urge people to look elsewhere for a quality bookcase.
