Narita Jumbo Cart Review

I bought this cart from Stacks and Stacks several weeks ago and I am really pleased with it. It requires very little assembly(just the wheels) and the instructions were very easy to follow. I take it to the supermarket 2-3 times a week and, the supermarket is one mile away from my house. So I would say I take it 4-6 miles every week, and I load it up with items such as 12 packs of soda, 2.5 gallon water, and cat litter along with the rest of my groceries. It is also a very nice looking cart, as I do not see many of these carts in chrome and the black handle is thick foam, not plastic as I have seen on other carts. I am very pleased with this cart, it is just what I wanted : )

Graphite Laptop Table Review

I'm typing this from my laptop, on the Laptop Table, from my big easy chair! The left side of the table holds the laptop at a convenient height and tilt, and the right side holds my external hard drive on a level surface. I didn't bother to use the provided wheels, so the thing's super-stable. The smart design of the base allows you to put the table's base under your chair from the left or right side, so the laptop table extends over your chair's arm. The whole thing is light enough that you can simply rotate the table & laptop over the chair, or away, as desired. The slight swivel mentioned by the negative reviewer is due to the spring-loaded height adjuster pin's engagement in the vertical adjustment holes. It's not designed to be perfectly tight, and it doesn't detract from the table's use. The tilt mechanism is substantial and works fine, but you do have to apply some strength to properly tighten it. I use it at it's lowest height setting, but I did drill a new hole below that, so I can lower it even further. At it's highest setting, it can be used as a podium or music stand. It would be great if the manufacturer supplied some no-mar footpads (I installed my own), as I use it on a hardwood floor. I'd recommend this product. I was previously using a Table Mate II, now retired, that I would break down and put away when I expected company. This table is flexible, functional, spacious, and attractive.

3M Easy Adjust Sit/Stand Keyboard Tray with Adjustable Platform, 23 Inch Track, Antimicrobial Gel Wrist Rests (AKT180LE) Review

I just got the tray setup, so this is a fresh outlook. As a side note, I am using a similar tray at work, and so far I like that one better. cant remember the manufacturer, it was not 3M though.

Overall good solid product, easy installation and assembly, adjusts on many levels. noticeably thought-through design. But why rivets for moving joints? This brings me to my 2-cents:

- The tray surface is too small. I had to get creative to fit my Ms keyboard (nothing fancy). Will fit standard size (basic) keyboards only, as shown on product photos.

- The end result feels flimsy. believe me, the 6 screws are firmly in. The issue is with the rivet design, which has a degree of give. Adjusting the tray is a time-consuming process for now.

- Maybe because I decided on the mounting arm with the longest up/down travel (allows using the keyboard standing or seating), but the angle adjustment knob is in the way pressing at my right thigh. Something to get used to I guess. My other tray has that know on the top side behind the keyboard.

- Lacks a damping spring, to reduce strain on the desk mounting screws. with a longer arm it is not critical, but as the arm gets shorter, the whole assembly gets stiffer. if you apply pressure from the top on a regular basis, something will loosen-up/break eventually. most likely the main rivet will get loose. So don't apply pressure... :)

For what I paid I would expect these to be non-issues. Looking back, I wouldn't pay more than $100 bucks, yet I paid more.

Alera Madaris Leather Guest Chair with Wood Trim, Black/Mahogany Review

I bought two of these chairs. They look good and fit well with the Alera office chair I bought as well. A tip when putting them together, affix the arms to the back first and keep the screws a bit loose. Then carefully put the seat in and screw into place. I first tried it the other way around and since there is not as much slack on the screws for the seat, its better to install it first. Be very careful when installing it as the screw holes can scratch the veneer off very easily. The chairs seem sturdy when put together. They are a bit stiff, but not uncomfortable to sit in. The only real con is the wood veneer being so easily scratched off, but using a black sharpie should cover up any small nicks.

I bought this thing to hold all my detailing supplies; it works great. I keep the towels and other things I don't want getting dusty in the cabinet portion, products on the shelf, small parts/brushes/etc in the drawer, tools and working area on the top.

One thing to keep in mind; it is very easy to accidentally mistake the top and bottom when assembling the cart since the only very noticeable difference is the side panel mounting holes are on only one side of the bottom, the smooth side, while the top has them on the non-smooth side. If you do it backwards, it's kind of a pain to detach the side panels (had to use a pry bar).

These items used to be called "typing tables/stands/carts". Because my old one was permanently commandeered by a family member, I ordered this item - about the same size as my old one, and similar in type (drop leaves, somewhat lower than desk height, and wheeled).

Even though I am now using this item, I cannot recommend it because of the problems in its assembly, which I believe to be due to poor manufacturing tolerances, as described below:

The stand was shipped flat, and I proceeded to assemble it per instructions provided. All the screws, bolts and fittings were provided, although the packing left something to be desired . All holes for screws were pre-drilled, making the attachment of the steel components to the laminate top and shelves very straightforward.

HOWEVER, the for sets of holes drilled for the attachment of the steel fittings to the drop-leaves were in every case misaligned by about one sixteenth of an inch (1/16"). This misalignment of the steel components attached to the leaves with those attached to the top made fixing the leaves in a horizontal position impossible.

Because of the small misalignment of the pre-drilled screw-holes, I could not drill eight additional holes. I considered returning the item, but decided instead to file the steel components attached to the leaves in order to fit those attached to the fixed top. This took me about two hours, using a small hand file. This, of course, should not have been necessary; any purchaser of such a product should be able to rely on the manufacturer to meet tolerances. A well-known Scandinavian provider of customer assembled furniture manages to do this pretty well,

I wanted a bookcase in the 16 to 18 inch width range, but could not find any that I liked so I settled for this one advertised as 14 inches in width. The Verilux natural spectrum deluxe lamp is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I do a lot of crafts (crochet and cross-stitch) and I can see so much better with this lamp. I also like the handy tray~perfect for scissors, needles, coffee, etc. My husband likes it because it makes it much easier to read the paper and he has a place for his glasses and the remote.
