This is an industrial strength, perfectly designed lamp for any work space that needs an adjustable lamp. I used numerous extendable arm lamps that would only last about a year before the lamp position would no longer stay set to where I put it. This lamp is a bit pricey compared to those but it is well worth the saving in aggravation - you set it and stays where you put it - and it looks good too. Love it!
