I needed a good sturdy lamp for the office to hang over one of the filing cabinets in a dark corner and I chose this clip-on lamp for its looks and the fact that it wouldn't be knocked over like a lamp just placed on top of the cabinet probably would be.

Construction is for the most part excellent and the on/off dial is big and it rotates on/off infinitely so you can just spin it around endlessly to toggle the light. Now the dial itself had come off during shipping but it wasn't broken and it just popped back on and works fine. The clip itself is super tight and strong and I have no worries about the lamp being dislodged from its perch.

The cord is coiled like an old telephone wire which I wasn't expecting - although it does actually say that in the description. But I actually thing it's a good safety feature as it means there isn't a coil of wire on the floor causing a potential trip hazard. I'd say it stretches to about 5'-6' with ease.

Perfect for my needs so I'm a happy camper.
