COMPATIBILITY, PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING: This stand is designed for use on a flat surface such as a desk or table only, and is not suitable for use on your lap, a bed, or other irregular surface. For laptops with a keyboard thickness (not including display) of 1 1/8 in. or less. The stand overlaps the top of the keyboard by ½ in., so it is generally not suitable for keyboards who's keys are within ½ in. of the edge. Not compatible with Apple Air or other laptops with beveled edges on the bottom of the keyboard. This product will cover a small portion of the side of your computer (see photo). It can generally be adjusted around a power connection, but may not be the best choice for you if you frequently access the ports or disk on the side of your laptop.

I bought 2 pairs of these in 2011 because it seemed like such a nifty idea that I got to try.

Unfortunately, they did not fit well on the Toshiba netbook that I was then using.

I am now using an Asus ultrabook, and boy, this is one of those things that once you've used, you'd wonder how you could have done without it. The metal piece elevates the laptop. The screen is now closer to me, and the viewing experience is better. I also find it easier to type with a slight tilt.

I love that it's such an ingeniously simple design. There are all manners of laptop stands on the market, from spring loaded ones like the Ergotron and 3M stands, to those which essentially comprises of a angled base like the ones commonly sold by PC fan manufacturers like Coolermaster. This pair of Latosta stands does the job, and fits into your pocket.

One point to note is that if you position the stand near the screen for just a slight tilt as I do, and the USB ports of your notebook are at the sides of the notebook near the screen, they may be blocked.

I deducted one star because the angle of the bend in one of my stand did not match the other, and I had to adjust it so that my laptop would not wobble. The metal is not so stiff that you would need to bend it with the aid of clamps/ tools. You can use your hands.
