I love this desk! It's very sturdy unlike most of the available assembled furniture nowadays. And the lovely bleached finish is smooth and beautiful. Be warned that the box will be very heavy when it arrives. It took my husband about two hours to assemble it but he is experienced so it may take longer for others. The side file cabinet and shelves are very useful and there is a lot of leg room. This isn't L-shaped because one side juts off at approximately at a 30 degree angle so it won't fit in a corner. It's also a bit high (about 2.5 ft) and I'm a short person so with my office chair at max height, the desktop still makes me feel like I have my shoulders up. If you are going to buy this desk, make sure you assemble it near where you are going to put it because of its weight and the awkward shape. Regardless, I still love it because it has so much surface area which I find I need when I'm studying with all the books and papers and of course my computer.
