I always have it in my bag. That little lift both lets the laptop cool faster and elevates the screen to make a difference in posture. Not quite as good as a full-on laptop riser, but for something so tiny it's perfect.

Not quite as sturdy as it looks in the photo -- the copper wire inside the black plastic tube is under 2mm in diameter. However, I haven't had a problem with it bending, but my laptop is relatively light. Tried it on a friend's heavy Dell mobile workstation, still worked fine.

If your laptop is on the heavy side, make sure it has rubber feet toward the front (you can also buy those), so that when it tilts forward, those feet (and not just the laptop edge) still have a grip on the desk. Otherwise, the laptop will slide off the riser.
